Gramacri Limited takes the safety and welfare of our staff and anyone engaged by, or working with, Gramacri Limited very seriously.
Our Health and Safety Policy plays an important role in setting and making clear the standards of health and safety that we apply in our business.
It is important that you read and ensure you understand the content of this policy. If you have any questions about it, please direct them in the first instance to your line manager OR Cristian Mattaliano at cmattaliano@gramacri.com.
This policy is not part of any employment or any other contract. We Gramacri Limited may amend this policy from time to time. in line with the needs and practices of our business.

- What does this policy cover and who is covered?
- All staff, contractors and workers and other persons affected by the work we undertake are covered by Gramacri Limited’s health and safety policy.
- Our policy is to:
- Understand the health and safety risks arising from our work activities as well as work premises;
- ensure adequate control of those health and safety risks;
- provide the necessary information and instruction for employees;
- ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training;
- prevent accidents at the workplace;
- maintain safe and healthy working conditions;
- review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals;
- Part 2: Key responsibilities
- Maintaining appropriate standards of Health and Safety is a collective task shared between us and you. This policy and the rules contained in it apply to all staff of the Company, irrespective of seniority, tenure and working hours, including all employees, directors and officers, consultants and contractors, casual or agency staff, trainees, homeworkers and fixed-term staff and any volunteers (Staff).
- All Staff have personal responsibility to ensure compliance with this policy, to co-operate to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and to take reasonable care of themselves and others.
- All our staff (including PPA Cover teachers and instructors) will:
- co-operate to achieve a healthy and safe workplace;
- take reasonable steps to familiarise themselves with and follow relevant Health & Safety procedures communicated by the school(s);
- ensure that they are aware of the fire evacuation plan and the location of all fire exits on arriving at a new school;
- be aware of any relevant medical, allergy or physical needs communicated by the school which may affect the safe delivery of services. (e.g. allergies, asthma, epilepsy, etc.);
- take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others;
- report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person at their school(s). Whenever an employee notices a health and safety problem this should be reported to the attention of the Headteacher immediately;
- ensure that accidents and incidents are promptly reported to the school and appropriately recorded in accordance with the school’s procedures.;
- ensure that all equipment used is in a good condition, working properly and is stored safely. Any faulty equipment should be withdrawn from use and reported to the Headteacher, with a note saying Fault Do Not Use.
- ensure that practical activities, craft activities and the use of any equipment or materials are carried out safely, appropriately supervised and in accordance with the school’s health and safety procedures.
- ensure that any higher-risk equipment or materials, including heated tools, glue guns or sharp equipment, are used only where appropriate, safely supervised and in accordance with school procedures and risk assessments.
