Gramacri works closely with Primary Schools fulfilling their MFL and Environmental Education PPA Cover and After School Clubs.
We believe that Education plays a vital role in helping tackle climate change and encouraging individuals to protect the environment. As a result, we have combined environmental learning with Languages Teaching.
All our programmes are in line with the requirements of the National Curriculum 2014,and the Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy 2022.
We offer Spanish, French, Italian, German and Mandarin Chinese. Also, we provide outstanding environmental lessons and Eco clubs without languages teaching.
At Gramacri we offer PPA Cover and After School Clubs in languages combined with environmental learning or environmental education only. We believe strongly in making lessons fun, therefore we involve a mix of music, songs, games, stories, videos and role-play.
Our slogan is ‘Learn a New Language While Helping the Planet‘. In other words, we reinforce the importance of environment preservation among young children while teaching them a New Language.
All our programmes have been developed with the Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy 2022 in mind. This means, we combine standard language topics with Climate and Environmental Education (have a look at our schemes of work for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 at the bottom of this page). Our teachers and instructors provide students the opportunity to not only develop language skills, but also to become more informed young people with impact felt widely in their families and communities.
After School Clubs
Gramacri offers languages clubs as well as Eco clubs. We will deliver engaging languages sessions combined with environmental learning or just Eco clubs during school holidays, or after school.
The emphasis of our Languages Clubs is on fun including songs, rhymes, stories and lots of games. Children love Bingo, Simon says, Who wants to be a Millionaire, words tennis, hangman and many more. We also provide outdoor language sessions in the school’s garden increasing access to, and connection with, nature.
By starting an Eco-club at your school you will actually make both: a positive impact to our planet, as well as a huge difference to your pupils’ education. Our emphasis will be to empower youth to lead a cultural transformation that optimizes health and sustains the environment. In our eco-club children will:
- learn what to recycle and how;
- use recycled materials;
- paint, draw, colour, cut and glue;
- watch documentaries and tutorials;
- start and maintain student action campaigns;
- learn about habitat restoration;
- engage with green labs;
- engage with garden activities;
- connect with nature;
- clean up trash from local parks or schools yard;
- monitor recycling bins;
- learn the art of glass painting.

At the end of the school year, our KS2 pupils will produce an eco poster in the target language. They will have to display how they have been more sustainable, and their environmentally friendly choices. Our teachers/ instructors will upload these works onto our Facebook Page. These works will not contain any information about the children. Therefore, our staff coordinators will pick the work which gets the most likes. The author of that work will win 3 tickets (1 for the child, 2 for their parents/carers) to fly to the country where the language learnt is spoken.
