Common Questions

Do I need a webcam for online lessons ?

Yes, the minimum you need is an internet connection, a webcam, a microphone and speaker. If you have a webcam your teacher will be able to show you the interactive tasks which have been planned for you.

Do I need to buy any special software ?

No, We use Skype and Zoom Meeting, which are free and easy to use :).

Will I need to pay for anything in addition to the hourly lesson fee ?

No, the software we use is free and there is no cost to use it.

Can I do online lessons with a friend or partner ?

Yes, although we highly recommend only doing Language lessons with someone who has the same level of the language you want to learn as you!.

Will I need to buy a textbook ?

Not necessarily. We reference many books in our lessons – each of which we use for different areas of the language. We’ll provide you with all resources and materials you need each lesson. If however you’d prefer using a textbook please let your teacher know and we will make a recommendation that’s just right for your level and goals

What do I need to bring to each lesson ?

You will need a notepad, a pencil and eraser at each lesson. We will provide you with study notes and any other resources you will need for each lesson.

Can I cancel or reschedule my online lesson ?

Yes, all we ask for is at least 24 hours notice so we can reorganise our diaries and hopefully book another class in place. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for cancellations or changes made less than 24 hours of the lesson.

Are there discounts available for online lessons ?

Yes, if you book 10 lessons you get one lesson free!.

How much homework should I expect ?

Homework greatly assists progress so we prefer assigning it, but if your schedule is manic or you simply don’t feel like it, that’s fine too. We can work around ambitions and schedule. You can expect homework assignments to take between 1 and 2 hours a week.
